Rain on the 8th has put one foot on the very low river levels overnight, the river is now in a good fishing state with a tinge of colour. There are still salmon entering the Eden, there were plenty showing themselves and several have been caught on the lower beats over the last week and up to yesterday to all methods. We have also seen good numbers of sea trout off every tide this week, the brown trout and grayling fishing has been good.
Here is a salmon caught and released by Gary MacDonald on a switch rod fishing just before the tide.
A big contrast today the 10th as compared with previous days, the weather conditions were identical, there was a small drop in water levels and yet were hard pressed to see a sign of any fish of any specie show although they were there, could not persuade any takers today, that’s fishing sometimes!
